Beginnings of the Tampa Church
In 1899, a few students of Christian Science began meeting in private residences to read the Christian Science Bible Lesson. Sunday services were held at various locations beginning in 1902. Encouragement came to the little band in the spring of 1903 when a practitioner arrived in Tampa. The church was organized with 18 members in April 1908. On January 24, 1926, the first Christian Science church service was held in the completed edifice. Dedication services were held on March 5, 1944.
